Cate has worked in mental health for 13 years. She earned a degree in Clinical Psychology from Governors State University in 2014. She has worked in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, a residential treatment center, community mental health, outpatient clinic, and psychiatric and independent private practices.
Cate has experience working with adults, children, couples, and families and treating a variety of mental health concerns including Anxiety, ADHD, Depression, Trauma, Life Stage adjustment, Womens' Issues, and Relationship/family dynamics.
Cate's experience as an EMT and shaman, as well as a counselor, make her uniquely qualified to address mind, body, and spirit in the pursuit of holistic wellness. She tailors therapeutic interventions to each client using research-supported modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, solution-focused, experiential, attachment, feminist, mindfulness, and psychodynamic theories.
She finds meaning in helping clients not only reduce symptoms of mental illness, but to increase feelings of wellness and joy! She believes intuitive insight is her gift, and that being a counselor is her purpose in life.
In her personal time, she enjoys creating art, dancing, and spending time with her two children as a single mother.
