You Don't Notice You're Magnificent

When I was learning to drive, my father gave me the advice to look straight forward at the road where I wanted to go, and the car would go there. If I looked around to the side, the car would start to veer off. And so it is with life. Without trying or noticing, you travel in the direction of the positive goals you consistently focus on.

Whether you experience life as striving, hustle, a daily grind, or a peaceful unfolding, you may not notice the progress of your becoming. One day, you might be shocked to discover you now are that person you’ve worked toward or longed to become! Suddenly that expert in your field, that healthy body, that more patient parent, that loving partner.

When you notice your success, celebrate it. Give yourself a loving embrace, words of encouragement, a special treat. You deserve to be appreciated, even if only by yourself at the moment. Celebrating yourself will attract others who see your greatness. Don’t push them away. Choose to love those who love you, even if it feels weird at first.
